The Art of Guiding Meditation
Guiding grows out of your own practice.
The Art of Guiding Meditation is a Meditation teacher training in Bali and online with Andreas Pasolympia. It begins in a simple place: your own practice. Before we guide anyone else, we learn to sit with ourselves, to listen, and to meet what is here with kindness.
From there, you learn to share Meditation with others: to give instructions that people can actually follow, to listen to their questions, and to adjust your words and pace to the person in front of you. We begin with a conversation, and the learning is shaped around you.
Guiding others is not about imposing a method. It grows out of your own familiarity with awareness, so that guiding becomes natural and sincere.

Who It Is For
This training is for people who already love Meditation and want to learn to guide Meditation for others. Maybe friends ask you how you stay calm. Maybe you lead a yoga class, a team, a community group, or a family, and you would like to offer a few quiet minutes in a way that feels honest. Maybe you simply want your own practice to go deeper before you ever guide anyone.
The path can be walked in two ways, and both are welcome.
- For yourself: a steady, personal practice you can carry home, and a clearer sense of what Meditation really is beyond techniques.
- For others: learning to guide individuals or small groups with clear instructions, a listening heart, and respect for each person’s own pace.
You do not need to be “advanced” or to have “the right kind of calm”. What matters is that you have some practice of your own, and that you are willing to keep learning from it.
What does your own practice look like right now?

The Ground We Guide From
At InnerPeace we start from basic goodness: every person has a fundamentally good true nature, and a path of their own for recognizing it again. Stress, old habits, and hard days can cover it. They do not erase it.
So a meditation guide does not give anyone peace from the outside. You help people notice what is already here: the breath moving by itself, the feet resting on the floor, the awareness that knows this moment. Awareness here simply means the knowing of what you see, hear, feel, and think. Nobody has to build it. We learn to recognize it, again and again, until it feels familiar.
Because people are different, there is no single correct method to hand out. Some find their doorway through the breath and the body, others through compassion, open awareness, or quiet inquiry. Inquiry means a gentle question that turns you toward your direct experience, such as “what is it that knows this breath?”
What You Learn
There is no fixed curriculum to hurry through. The direction is shaped around your experience, your questions, and what you wish to learn. These are the areas we usually work with.
Your Own Practice First
We deepen the practice you already have, so that what you later share comes from your own experience and not from a script. This includes formal practice, meaning a set time when you sit and do nothing else, and informal practice in the middle of ordinary activities.
The Essence Behind Techniques
Breath, body, sound, loving-kindness, and resting in awareness are all doorways. You learn what they have in common, so you are not stuck when one technique does not suit someone.
Mindfulness in Daily Life
Mindfulness means paying attention to what is happening now in the body, feelings, and thoughts, without rushing to judge it. You practise it yourself and learn simple ways to invite others into it, such as short moments, many times a day.
Clear, Simple Instructions
You learn to say what to do, when, and how, in plain words. “Feel your feet on the floor” is easier to follow than “ground yourself in presence”. You also learn when silence helps more than words.
When Attention Wanders
Everyone drifts off into thoughts. You learn to guide people back without scolding, so that noticing “I drifted” becomes part of the practice, not a sign of failure.
Listening and Holding Space
Guiding is also listening: to questions, to doubts, to what someone does not say. You learn to cultivate presence and sensitivity to the person in front of you, and to hold a safe and open space for practice.
Try This Now
Before guiding anyone else, try guiding yourself out loud for one minute. Say, “Feel your feet on the floor,” and actually feel them before you go on. “Listen to the sounds around you.” Listen first. Notice whether your voice hurries.
If you lose the thread, that is fine. Pause, feel your own feet, and carry on. You will notice the difference between reading instructions and guiding from experience. That difference is what this training is about.
How the Training Works
Everything begins with a conversation. We talk about what draws you to guiding, your practice so far, and whether you are learning for yourself or also preparing to guide others. This is a way of life, not a menu, so we first see whether this way of learning feels right for you.
- In Bali: private training at your hotel or villa, or an arranged semi-private workshop. In-person visits are usually available around Seminyak, Kuta, and Renon. Other areas need prior arrangement, with any transportation fee confirmed before booking.
- Online: Meditation facilitator training online takes place in live, interactive sessions by video call, with materials and mentorship shaped around your training. Please share your time zone.
- Arrangements: the focus, format, schedule, duration, preparation, and fee are agreed together before you begin. There is no fixed price list or package.
Guiding Meditation can be learned on its own, or woven together with other paths in Facilitator Training.
After the Training
Everyone grows at their own pace, so we do not promise a result after a certain number of sessions. What many people take home is simple and practical:
- a personal practice that feels natural and alive, not like one more task;
- a clearer understanding of the essence of Meditation beyond any single technique;
- the confidence to guide a short practice for a friend, a class, or a small group in plain, kind words;
- a way to respond when someone says “I can’t meditate, my mind is too busy”.
Guiding keeps ripening through your own practice. If you would like continued support after the training, we can talk about mentoring.
Part of the Direct Path
The Art of Guiding Meditation grows out of the Direct Path: practice without tools, through Meditation, awareness, embodied presence, and Nonduality. Embodied presence means that awareness is also felt in the breath and the body. If you are newer to practice, begin with private Meditation in Bali and online. If your questions turn toward the nature of experience itself, explore Nonduality mentorship.
Facilitator Training is the bridge between the Direct Path and the Explorative Path, where tools such as Reiki and Tarot are used.
Learning with Andreas
Andreas Pasolympia is a Meditation and Mindfulness educator and the founder of Inner Peace Indonesia. Meditation has been part of his life since the age of 10, and sharing it grew naturally out of that practice. He still learns from every person he sits with.
His way of teaching is personal and dialogical. He listens to each person’s background and questions first, then helps them find a meaningful doorway into awareness, presence, and compassion. You are welcome to read about Andreas’s background and way of teaching and the InnerPeace approach before we speak.
Questions About The Art of Guiding Meditation
Do I Need to Be an Experienced Meditator?
You need some practice of your own, because guiding grows out of it. It does not have to be long or perfect. If you are just starting, we can begin with your own practice and see together when guiding others feels right.
Can I Join Only to Deepen My Own Practice?
Yes. Many people come for themselves first. If you later wish to guide others, share that intention so it can shape the direction of learning.
Is the Training Available in Bali and Online?
Yes. In Bali it can take place at your hotel or villa or in an arranged semi-private workshop. Online, we meet live by video call. Share your location or time zone when you write.
How Long Does It Take, and What Does It Cost?
The focus, schedule, duration, and fee are agreed personally in our first conversation. There is no fixed price list or package, because the training is shaped around you.
Will I Receive a Certificate?
Yes. Participants who complete the training receive a certificate from Inner Peace Academy.
Which Meditation Methods Will I Learn to Guide?
We work with doorways such as the breath, the body, sound, loving-kindness, open awareness, and gentle inquiry. The emphasis is on understanding what they share, so you can choose what fits the person you are guiding.
Begin with a Conversation
Tell Andreas about your own practice, who you would like to guide, and whether you are in Bali or joining online. Together you can find a fitting place to begin.
